A friend & regular of Crondall rock 'n' roll club, Russ Hobbs, on the left here, who organised a one off gig in March last year to raise funds for the Surrey Air Ambulance, did, on the basis of that gig being successful, organise a 2nd gig to take place on 6th Feb this year, to raise even more funds.

An impressive total of £772.59 was raised for Surrey Air Ambulance (charity no- 1021367)

Thanks to Sundowners, Oh Boy Record Hop & Russ Hobbs the organiser for making it all happen.

All goes well with Greasy Mick's Rockin' Memorial Night

17/12/09

Whilst a lot of you were enjoying the Wildest Cats in Town Xmas Party, we were celebrating the life of Greasy Mick in Farnborough at a special Memorial Night with Rhythm Aces & DJ Edwardian Andy all the way from Northamptonshire.

There was a good turnout & a grand total of just over £375 was made for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice in the name of Sam Lyth via proceeds of the event, the raffle & generous donations.

We know Mick would have been very proud of his best mate Wardy going through with this event, as was Wardy being extremely proud & very grateful to everyone who turned up including a couple from Leicester & Bill & Linda of the Barnstaple rock 'n' roll club who travelled 5 hours to get there & went home the same night.

The DJs 2 Houndogs did a toast to Mick on Saturday night at Wildest cats in town xmas party, which was very touching indeed.

All in all, we had a very good night, most memorable to say the least, with Rhythm Aces finishing the night without responding to an encore, but respectfully finishing with 'The Wanderer', Mick's favourite song.

God bless yer Mick, we miss you. x

How far can a representation of Crondall r 'n' r club travel ?!

FROM CRONDALL TO MEMPHIS WITH LOVE

Whilst Al, in the article below, was sunning his arms & face in Cuba, some other friends of mine had a little surprise waiting for them in their hotel, 'Heartbreak Hotel' in Memphis, Tennessee.

Angie & Trev were planning to go to Memphis to visit Graceland next year, but decided to bring the date forward to this September, BUT didn't tell Ray & Elaine who had already arranged to visit Graceland at the same time.

Angie & Trev left a hand delivered Crondall flier in Ray & Elaine's pigeon hole in the Heartbreak hotel with a message written on the envelope saying ' if you want to know who delivered this, then meet us in the bar in the hotel at 8 o'clock tonight.

Elaine was very eager to find out who the mystery flier messenger was, that Ray hardly had time to shower! They met up with Angie & Trev in the bar that evening & ended up doing a quiz on Elvis, with the locals seemingly not knowing many of the answers!

Elaine & Ray did the very decent thing the next day & took the flier to Graceland gates to have it's picture taken with them.

I must say, we were extremely touched by the whole set up, &  especially so to have this wonderful picture.

Elaine has been going to Crondall r 'n' r club since she was 17, & like Al below, is one of Crondall's longest standing customers.

Thank you guys for making this picture possible.

It might seem unimportant to some, but we are very proud of it.

FROM CRONDALL TO CUBA WITH LOVE

14.09.09

One of the clubs longest standing customers (although he doesn't look old enough, lucky git :) ) Al Cox, managing director of Al's Classics recently went on his hols to CUBA & when he returned, sent us this beautiful picture.

This has got to be the furthest distance that a Crondall rock 'n' roll club T.Shirt has travelled.

Al did wear it all day, even though he looks as roasted as a peanut!

Well done Al & thank you very much

& thank you for sharing this pic with us.

In Memory of Greasy Mick

14.09.09

For those of you who knew the late Mick Landucci (Wardy's best mate) aka Greasy Mick from Farnborough,

It is with deep regret

to inform you that he sadly passed away in his sleep during the morning of 13th August

His funeral took place on Friday 28th August at Aldershot Crematorium.

The service began with Elvis' 'Wonder of You' with a humourous reference to some of Mick's life's experiences being read out, with some touching moments also , finishing by sending Mick off to heaven to the sound of Elvis singing 'American Trilogy'

There was a great turnout of Mick's friends & family for the service, which Mick would have been very proud of, if he were looking down on us,

Rest in Peace Mick, we miss you.

A private wake was held by the family & a rockin' wake for the rockin' crowd was held at a regular drinking haunt of Mick's, at the Fox Inn - Farnborough, Hampshire.

Tall Paul (Horsham r 'n' r club) supplied the decks, while DJ Dynamite Ady, Gerry Brooker & Mad Andy Munday supplied the music between them for the whole afternoon & early evening, not failing to play Mick's favourite, the Wanderer by Dion.

For anyone interested in viewing more pictures taken at the 'wake for the rockin' crowd' please click here

God bless your kind & friendly soul Mick, you were a good hearted man.

Our sympathies & thoughts are with your parents & family at this sad & tragic time

 x

Mick, with his best friend Wardy, had just started a club up in Farnborough

& had their 1st gig with Rat Pack 12 days before Mick sadly passed away.

Their 2nd gig was, and still is planned to go ahead with

Rhythm Aces & DJ Edwardian Andy

on

 Saturday 5th December '09,

£7 Entry

Wardy has decided to dedicate this night to the memory of his best mate Mick.

A public thank you notice to the official Crazy Cavan fan club

22/07/09

Louise, the secretary of the Official Crazy Cavan Fan Club has been busy distributing the very first fan club news sheet, & on the front page has my review of the band playing at Crondall rock 'n' roll club on Feb 28th '09, together with a picture of them backstage.

It is indeed an honour to be a part of that news sheet, in fact, words escape me. Thank you to Louise & of course to Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers for the privilege.

And an immense huge thank you on behalf of everybody at Crondall rock 'n' roll club.

The fan club was launched in December last year at the Wildest cats Weekender, and is only a tenner for lifetime membership....it's a bloody good bargain if you ask me, & extremely good value.

Included with the 1st news sheet  was an exclusive radio interview with the man himself - Cavan Grogan, and the chance to be part of selecting tracks to be included on their next album. A prize draw is also offered to members for the opportunity to win tickets for the Rockers Reunion 2010.

Wednesday Night Rockin' Party celebrates 3rd Birthday

22/07/09

2 days since the Wildest Cats weekender in Pakefield, and we're  (Me 'n' DJ Dynamite Ady)  shooting off about 70 miles (or is it more....I never count! lol) to Verwood, in Dorset, to party on with Steve Stack O' Wax at the Forest Fm radio studio, celebrating the 3rd birthday of  his Wednesday Night Rockin' Party.

DJ Dynamite Ady & I had to put up with Mr dodgy stomach, Crazy Bristol DJ, Mr Leon Odd Socks.......Cor Blimey, could hardly get a word in edgeways with him on the show. All he & Steve kept on about was something about needing t.shirts, or not havin' a t.shirt or something!

Ady & Leon played a good back to back session of their own personal favourites & I was allowed to select a couple of my own.

I took the opportunity to play Georgia Slop from the new 'Snatch it & Grab it' Rat Pack cd which is due out about September time.

Paul & Geoff from the 'Fabulous Fifties show', which follows Steve's show on Forest Fm, joined us briefly giving a summary of their show.

And there's Alan, an old friend of Steve's who once helped Steve run a rock 'n' roll club in Bournemouth many moons ago. He  remained fairly quiet as Steve only dragged him along to make teas 'n' coffees all evening. Ha, ha! Poor guy!

We're still waiting for our piece of the birthday cake!

Steve began to present his show in July '06 & I had the very great honour of being Steve's 1st guinea pig...er, I mean guest on his show around 16th August, and Leon Odd Socks was his 1st ever guest DJ. Steve was still getting a feel for the radio biz when I first went on the show, & it was a totally new adventure for myself being on radio for the 1st time. 3 years & a few guest spots later, it's now a lot less nerve wrecking than the 1st time.

Steve's show has progressed from having just local listeners & a few via the internet, to becoming an Internationally known successful Hot 'n' Rockin' Radio show.

Steve may not be quite as madcap as Dell Richardson from the famous Radio Caroline, but we always have a laugh on the show.

Steve plays good & Hot Rockin' tracks, from the latest to the greatest, has the occasional guest i.e. promoters, d.js & bands playing live in the studio & not all as zany as us......and he dishes out a few gig details each week, which some of are selected from the rockin' mag - Maggies Blue Suede News.

Click here to contact Steve during the show times - Weds 8pm- 10pm UK Time, mainly to plug gigs, tell him what a great show he's putting on , or make a dedication to someone you luuuuurrrrve!

Please click here to contact the Wax man for any other reason :), but please be patient as Steve works ridiculously stoopid shifts during the week. Thank you.

Join the party with Steve Stack O' Wax

  Every Wednesday 8pm - 10pm UK Time

Wednesday Night Rockin' Party is also repeated 24/7 here

Pete Lyth - frontman of Rhythm Aces

determined to raise large funds for Childrens Hospice in memory of his son

June '09

PLEASE read through to the end & then please pass this on to your friends...it doesn't take much to help.

It is with deep regret that Sam Lyth - 15 year old son of Pete Lyth (frontman of the Rhythm Aces),  peacefully passed away in May after a long battle against Neuroblastoma.

The Donna Louise Children's hospice, where he spent his last moments,
provided a service absolutely 2nd to none.
The care team  were like angels taking care of Sam, &  the family were well looked after too.
Sam couldn't have spent his last moments in a better place.
He was a very brave young man indeed.

The hospice needs £2 million a year & most of this is obtained through public donations,  that's about a £250,000 for every 6 wks needed!

Pete Lyth would like as much money raised for this hospice as possible
so that other local families who desperately need this kind of support,
can also benefit from it.

The family request that anyone wishing to pay tribute to Sam, can do so by sending any donations, which will be gratefully received by The Donna Louise Trust.

Donations should be sent and addressed to
For the attn of Sylvia Pearl
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust, Treetops, 1 Grace Road, Trentham, Stoke on Trent. ST4 8FN

Please make sure that any donations sent on to the trust, bear a note clearly stating who you are donating in the name of, i.e Sam Lyth, so that the trust can keep a running total in  his name.

Cheques can be made payable to The Donna Louise Trust

There is no time limit for submissions of donations.

CRONDALL ROCK 'N' ROLL CLUB HAVE DONATED £283.20 TO THE TRUST,
FROM RAFFLE PROCEEDS & DONATIONS
FROM OUR GIG - (30th May with the band Roosters)

Another whipround over the weekend (12/06/09) raised £72.20 which was thanks to Emma,  the daughter of John of 2 Houndogs DJs, and her now husband A.J.
They got married on the Friday & Emma insisted on doing a whipround at their wedding reception & added £20 of their own cash from the money they received as part of their wedding present.

Queenie & Rob did a whipround at Zeb & Sandy's Gloucester rock 'n' roll club (13/06/09) & raised £125

Crondall rock 'n' roll club have raised £283.20 & Pavilion raised £165.
The Castle at Southend - £126.71,

& I did a whipround at Ford club at Basildon last weekend & raised £101 including

the penny I found on the Skyrockers changing room floor, lol.

Other places have also raised funds

GREAT THANKS TO THOSE FUND RAISERS, DONATORS & SUPPORTERS

It's all great stuff & so worth it to put a smile on children's faces at the hospice

Pete Lyth of Rhythm Aces, takes an official Donna Louise childrens hospice bucket around with him to collect funds for the hospice  .

The bucket is taken to the hospice at least once a fortnight & exchanged for another empty one.

In the space of 10 days, Pete lyth presented 2 bucket loads of money to the Hospice totalling at £1,106.28 exactly.

He continues to hand into the hospice, bucket loads of money, & the staff there are really overwhelmed & very grateful by the response of the rockin' family.

ANOTHER LITTLE UPDATE OF FUNDRAISING

24.08.09

John Houndog of the 2 Houndogs DJs managed to raise an outstanding £1200 for this charity,

and most of that was in one weekend. He was extremely brave.

First off, he had his hair cropped down, then dyed it bright pink & left it like that for a couple of weeks & finally with a great deal of consideration, had all of his hair shaved right off, in public at the Wildest Cats in Town Weekender up in Great Yarmouth!

Well done John, you deserve some sort of medal!

FUNDRAISING CONTINUES TO BE RAISED AT VARIOUS VENUES

Regular Crondall punter raises funds for Surrey Air Ambulance

Regular Crondall punter & Fireman , Russ Hobbs - (Yes, that is his real name, & he has a kettle that was awarded to him to mark the significance of it, ha! ha! no offence Russ;) ) organised a one off  event to raise money for an independent charity - Surrey Air Ambulance.

The event which took place at Jacobs Well Social club in Guildford, on 7th March this year was a great success, & a total of just over £1,000 was raised as a result.

B.17s provided the entertainment along with a couple of numbers from Kat Cane of Kat & the K9s, with Djs Dynamite Ady & Boppin' Robin of Oh Boy! Record Hop.

Russ invited myself (for helping with the advertising of the event), Dynamite Ady, Kat cane, some of the Jacobs well social club committee & the B.17s. (Unfortunately B.17s couldn't make it due to flying around somewhere else, lol.) for the presentation of the cheque for the Surrey Air Ambulance in early April, at the Surrey Air Ambulance heliport situated at Dunsfold aerodrome.

The charity, which helps to save lives every day, rely solely on donations & their own fundraising to cover the costs of helicopters, maintainence of them, fuel, pilots wages e.t.c. All the government supply the charity with, are the paramedics.

The crew are called out at least twice a day & tot up a yearly bill for approx £250,000 / £1,000 000.

Later in the day, we discovered that the Surrey Air Ambulance was called out to a serious accident on the A3 in Guildford, not far from where Russ & ourselves live.

We know the money that was raised at this event was well spent, & helped to save a life or 2.

Always support the Surrey Air Ambulance if you can, it really is a worthy cause.

A brief summary of my visit to the Dunsfold aerodrome.

I was flagged down by security just after I entered the aerodrome, after taking a wrong turning, lol ....well....they let me in!...and was then instructed to follow the security truck in a 30 zone, with him doin' about 50 round a bend...Hey...my car can't do that mate, not unless I wanna roly poly!

The Air Ambulance crew wouldn't let me swing on the propellers of the helicopter & I almost accidently shut one of the crew's hand in the helicopter door & then nearly made a dent in my head when I banged it on looking inside the rear of the helicopter....didn't half hurt....but I had paramedics around me, so I was in safe hands, should I have fainted, lol.....I daren't ask if I could sit in the pilots seat....knowing my luck, they would have got a call, & I would have probably got stuck & held them up!

Danke rockin' freunds

This is to say thank you to our visitors from overseas who made the effort to come & see

Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers & Johnnnie Fox & his Invaders at Crondall rock 'n' roll club.

On the night of Crondall's most fantastic gig on 28th Feb '09,

a friend of ours took charge of the door for about half an hour,

who obviously greeted our foreign visitors.

As it was so busy, Our friend didn't get a chance to tell us about it on the night.

The following week another friend, who came to Crondall that night, said to us,

''did you know you had a couple of German guys down to see Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers at Crondall?''

At first, we thought it was a wind up, but  it  evidently seems that they were on holiday over here.

The following week, another friend tells us that he was talking to 3 men from Holland at the club that night.

It turns out that the Dutchmen flew all the way from Holland  just to see

Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers at Crondall.

They apparently spent the night in their car after the gig & travelled back to Holland the next day.

God knows how these guys managed to find the club in the middle of nowhere....amazing!

Some of the English have trouble finding it, but most don't, I hasten to add.

So, if the German or Dutch men that came to visit us on the 28th February to see

Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers & Johnnie Fox & his Invaders,

are reading this, I just would like to say, a special thank you, for coming all the way to Crondall in England

to support Crondall rock 'n' roll club

Keep rockin'

Ady & Janie were guests on Rockin' radio shows again

Feb 17th & pacing the floor at home.....can't wait to get in the Radio Caroline studio again, even if it is a different one YET AGAIN  for the thiiiiird time!!! The studio location seems to change just before I go onto this show everytime....hmmm? Is Dell hiding something?? I think I'll have to look into this & see if the guests before me are still around, lol!

Madness.....utter madness....but then that's rockin' ain't it?

I gave myself 3 hrs to drive to Kent were I usually get lost going to or coming back from ha, ha...it's the only place that I do! I arrive about an hour early at the rendezvous, put my feet up for a doze before all the excitement begins.

Dell & Malc finally arrive. I get an earache about Rockin' Jan (pronounced Yann) this, & Rockin' Jan (pronounced Yann) that,. Couldn't get a word in edgeways :) I fear Poor Ol' Dell is missing his right hand man & the star of the show, Arrrrrhhh, poor thing. Malc has replaced Jan and is the voice on the competition phone line tonight.

We order our meal & Dell asks if I want a roll.....I mean!!!! What is he like?? Oh, a bread roll....no thanks, I'm not as gutty as you Dell. :) Dell cracks some jokes...and finds a strange use for his rolls! Not as funny as rockin' Jan though, he, he.

Is it actually safe with Dell so near to me? ha, ha. I know Malc will look after me though....he's a nice guy.

At least there is one consolation....Dell didn't try & put his finger into my dinner!

Time to go to the studio, now that Dell has put me at ease with his humour, ha, ha!

We park in the most horrendous car park ever & I bolt my car up to the nearest available police car! only joking, ha, ha.

Can't see what resembles a studio.....where are these 2 giant men taking me?! Oh there it is.....when do the builders go home? ha, ha!

The studio is like a mile up the stairway, theres no central heating, the toilets in the kitchen, hence the kitchen roll on the toilet roll holder for drying oneself (yes, we had to use kitchen roll!) & you have to wash up the cups in a room that you're not permitted to enter.....well, Dell's not permitted to enter. That reminds me....Mustn't forget to look into whether Dell's guests, previous to me, are still around!!!! Scaaarry!!

Help me Malc....but he's not much help either....they're in it together....Oh My God!!

And this pic was taken after the show. And I thought Malc was such a nice man! :)

I'm in the studio & I feel like I'm waiting to have an operation, lol. Malc makes us a nice brew & we're all warmed up. I sit in the darkened corner in the Hot Seat with my own personal spotlight which Malc kindly set up for me (or is he trying to make me submit? lol)

We all spend the next 3 hours mucking around & havin' a good laugh.

The theme for the show tonight is modern bands & I have my own selection of tracks to play, & amongst them....Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers, Johnnie Fox, Rat Pack, Scottish band Coy Dogs, B.17s, Jack Rabbit Slim & more. I plug some of the bands as I go along, & of course, plug our forthcoming Crazy Cavan / Johnnie Fox gig  throughout the show.

Thanks to everyone who called or e.mailed in with their support while I was on the show, including Shaggy of Coy Dogs, Howie, crazy bass player of Rhythm Aces, Skyrockers, 2 Houndogs D.Js, Hustlers & Rob 'n' Debbie

Next day & it's time to invade the studios of Verwood in Dorset.

Dynamite Ady & myself make our mark in the studios of Forest fm on The Wednesday Night Rockin' Party, and Steve Stack O' Wax has brought along his body guard with him, Mr big Dave C, webmaster of the shows' 24/7 re-run site- www.southcoastrockabillys.co.uk , in case anything gets out of hand.....Ha, ha, ha.

We are all having a laugh together before we go on air & are introduced to Steve's 15 year old trainee, Ryan.

Ryan wishes to become a radio presenter when he leaves school, so what better training than from a rock 'n' roll master?! Ryan seemed to enjoy our  crazy presence.

Ady couldn't make it to Radio Caroline the night previously, so it's his turn to make a selection of tracks to play tonight &   has brought along a whole case of c.ds to select his favourites from,  to play on the show, representing himself as half of Oh Boy! Record Hop, or some of you may know him  as Dynamite Ady.

We all had a wail of a time, with me plugging the club & it's forthcoming events/bands & generally taking over the show!

We discussed $lim $lip & the $liders band wrapping themselves up in cling film at Crondall! ha, ha! And I got so engrossed in a jaffa cake that Ryan had given to me, that I wasn't listening properly to Steve when he asked me a question...so I said yes anyway! Ha, ha!

It was well worth guesting on these shows as I received phone calls with reference to things that I had mentioned on air.

Its always an honour & a laugh guesting on these 2 shows..... And I have to say, I did  miss Rockin' Jan, the WINDy man in the studio at  Radio Caroline.

HELP SUPPORT ROCKIN' RADIO As I'm supporting Dell (left) lol.

Rockin' radio was like a lifeline to me & kept me going before I discovered the clubs 28 years ago.

Dell & Steve don't get paid for doing this job, they do this for the love of the music & to help our Music survive.

Both of these shows rely on sponsorship money to survive & have certain expenses to cover such as replacing high class loo paper, filling Dell's stomach & buying more jaffa cakes.....seriously though.....why not look into sponsoring a show, or if you can't afford to do it on your own, perhaps go halves with someone or thirds, lol.

Lets help rockin' radio survive, which in turn helps the rockin' scene to TICK.

For details, Contact Dell here & contact Steve here.

Crondall rock 'n' roll club  sponsored the Good Rockin Tonight show on 17th Feb & also sponsored The Wednesday Night Rockin' Party for the month of Feb.

Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers

return to Crondall rock 'n' roll club - 28.02.09

(UPDATED 28/03/09)

For all of you Crazy Cavan & Rhythm Rockers fans, the band have  launched the 'CRAZY CAVAN  & THE RHYTHM ROCKERS OFFICIAL FAN CLUB'

at the 'Wildest Cats in Town' Xmas Party  in Pakefield  (5th/6th/7th Dec'08)

The launch of the fan club celebrates 40 years of the bands career, together with the release of their new album 'LETS FUCKIN' ROCK', out now & available from the band & that old geezer - Dell Richardson, presenter of Good Rockin' Tonight rock 'n' roll radio show.

As the intention of the band is to give something back to their fans after all these years, in the form of  the

'OFFICIAL CRAZY CAVAN & THE RHYTHM ROCKERS OFFICIAL FAN CLUB',

it is also our intention to be giving something back to our customers, especially those who have supported the club for as long as they can remember.

Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers  played at Crondall rock 'n' roll club in the very early years of the club's existence....strangely enough, on the 24th Feb 1978, only 3 months after the rock 'n' roll started in the Village hall at Crondall.

Then again, about 1985 ish?

The last  time Cavan played at Crondall rock 'n' roll club was 17th Dec '94, & hired by the then promoter of about 10 years,

Paul Prictoe (R) with his mate Keith (L).

They also played  at a pub called Tumbledown Dicks in Farnborough, which was one of the venues where a lot of the Crondall rock 'n' roll club old regulars used to go before the new Crondall Village hall opened in Nov. 1976

Johnnie Fox (pictured on the right here in his earlier days) will be support band with his Invaders (2 ex Hunters & Lee Gocher).
We gave Johnnie 1st refusal to do p.a. as he is a great Cavan fan & gave me & the family great support this month, 2 years ago, as did the Rat Pack with Johnnie....followed by B.17s & Cat Cane.

Johnnie has performed at Crondall with his Hunters in the past, & in more recent times, with Rat Pack & Skyrockers. (Please see Rat Pack & Skyrockers reviews for details)

A lot of our older  punters wish to see Cavan at Crondall rock 'n' roll club again.

We are managing their club, so that is what they are going to get.

This is our way of giving something back to our punters for all their support while we have been running the club for the last 4 years, & for the support they have given to the club for the last 32 years.

We also wanted to give Cavan & the guys the chance of playing at Crondall again for old times sake.

For any enquiries re: the fan club, please contact the fan club's secretary, Louise,

&

for those of you who don't have access to e.mailing facilities, please call Louise on 07837 234 860

Once the introduction to the fan club is placed on the Cavan website, you can make enquiries via the site at www.crazycavan.com

It will be a great honour to have Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers back on that Crondall stage.

Gawd bless 'em!

There will also be the opportunity to join the

'OFFICIAL CRAZY CAVAN & THE RHYTHM ROCKERS OFFICIAL FAN CLUB '

& Cavan Merchandise should also be available.

at Crondall rock 'n' roll club on our Cavan night on the 28th Feb.

Rock 'n' roll ain't never gonna die!

Elena with Skyrockers rhythm guitarist

A popular 19 year old Crondall rock 'n' roll club regular has written a report for her widely distributed Uni rag.

Elena, who attends the University of Birmingham, & is also an avid bass guitar player, felt she had to make her voice  heard about her love for rock 'n' roll through 'The Sanctuary', which is a student newspaper, distributed amongst Birmingham & other Universities.

This is what she wrote.............

Furious played at Crondall rock 'n' roll club August 23rd 2008

Popular club promoter - Tall Paul, suffers stroke

 13/07/08

(updated 8th Jan '10)

Life long Teddyboy, Tall Paul - hard working promoter of Horsham rock 'n' roll club sadly suffered a stroke on Tuesday 8th July.

Paul is now on a gradual recovery & is able to get out & about occasionally & is starting to enjoy life again a little, which is great news.

Horsham rock 'n' roll club will continue to take place as normal each month, and is now back in the regular venue of Drill Hall, Denne Road, Horsham, West Sussex.

A whip round at one of the gigs at Horsham rock 'n' roll club for Tall Paul & his wife - Sharon, was organised by well known Stall Holder there, Mr Memphis Pete. A total of '£286 plus' was raised.

Tall Paul & Sharon were unaware that this was going to happen & are extremely grateful to Memphis Pete, and to everyone who has sent cards & given support.

Paul has recovered & continues to run his club in Horsham

Money raised for Pancreatic Cancer Research

On 29th March 2008, We helped to raise funds for

The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Funds raised were a result of a darts/ pool tournament organised by ‘Our Paul’s’ pool team at the Parrot Inn, Guildford.

The Parrot Inn also had a special night with Rat Pack rockin’ the pub roof off

& more money was raised with a raffle & whip round

A final sum of £443.87 was raised and donated to the worthy cause.

A personal thanks to everyone who were involved with the events, especially Angie who organised the darts/pool tournament & sold all the raffle tickets.

And thanks to all who supported us on the night & made donations,

especially to Bill & Linda from Barnstaple r 'n' r club who travelled all the way from Devon just for the occasion.
